The Dr. Zee Initiative

A two-prong model for embedding youth as permanent co-governors in the systems that shape their lives.

Most institutions govern over young people. The Dr. Zee Initiative is building a future where they're governed with—where youth are treated as present citizens of the future they're already living in.

Our work moves on two fronts:

Prepare the Ground

We listen deeply to youth, study the systems that exclude them, and co-design realistic models of participation alongside the schools and organizations ready to evolve.

Transform the System

We work to rewrite the rules—shifting laws, policies, and governance frameworks so that permanent youth representation is structurally guaranteed, not symbolically offered. And we equip both young people and institutions with the literacy, ethics, and accountability needed to make shared governance work.

We're looking for partners.

Our forthcoming white paper lays out the full framework, the research behind it, and the practical pathways for implementation.

We're looking for partners. Schools, districts, nonprofits, youth-serving organizations, and civic institutions ready to move beyond youth advisory boards and tokenized listening sessions—toward something structural, lasting, and real.

If your organization wants to be part of the policy-changing research shaping the next generation of youth governance, we'd love to hear from you. Join the initiative by filling out the form below:
